“Employers’ Commitments and Workers’ Guarantees During Emergency Conditions”

In cases of partial or complete work suspension resulting from exceptional circumstances or force majeure, such as the spread of pandemics or occurrence of unforeseen events like fires, beyond the control of the employer, the employer must pay all designated wages during the suspension period, not exceeding 30 days. During this period, the employer can provide alternative work opportunities or compensate for the suspended period with unpaid work, with the law setting a limit for unpaid overtime during exceptional circumstances to ensure protection against worker exploitation.
